Maryland Elementary strives to be a community of learners fostering growth, respect and discovery in a diverse and challenging world.
Consultants from Effective Schools, Maryland's educational Best Practice, visited the school twice in 2010 - 2011 to assist teachers. The faculty continues to update, revise, and send its work for outside validation. Maryland also addressed the district’s social/emotional priority, with students in 2010 - 2011 taking a Search Institute survey measuring their Developmental Assets and staff setting up programs to enhance school climate, such as the Kindness Project.
