• School Profile and Points of Pride
    • Sixty-three percent of Bexley Middle School students scored at the Accelerated, Advanced or Advanced Plus level on Ohio's state assessments.  The school met the indicators for reading in grade seven, Mathematics 7, Mathematics 8, Science 8 and Algebra I on the 2015 - 2016 Ohio School Report Card.  The school earned a "B" on the report card's Performance Index, measuring the test results of every student.  

    • BMS was honored as a 2015 High Progress School, Battelle for Kids' designation recognizing high-growth schools and teachers who explore their practices and share lessons learned to elevate performance for all.

    • Since the Board of Education approved BMS including grades 6 through 8, starting in school year 2017 – 2018, the school district has been moving forward to make sure that the change happens smoothly.  A BMS implementation committee of residents, faculty and administrators meets monthly to work on the transition.

    • BMS established the new club Students Make A Difference, inspired in part by a message from the non-profit “because I said I would,” about the importance of a promise.  

    • Bexley’s Legocy robotics team of elementary and BMS students worked on projects that are part of the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competition.  

    • Meaghan Warren, BMS seventh grader, picked up one of the five 2016 Jefferson Awards that “recognize individuals who do extraordinary things in their community without expecting anything in return,” for her project Books for Bedtime

    • BMS's seventh grade service project supporting health clinics and refugees from strife-torn South Sudan made fundraising goals with a 3K Run/Walk, Battle of the Buckets, Pie Your Teacher, Auction, Raffle and Carnival

    • Eighth grade gifted English language arts students produced documentary videos that were screened by a public audience in May.

    Bexley consistently performs among the state's top schools on the Ohio Department of Education annual school report card. BMS earned an A in the area of average progress for students in math and reading, with a high number of students achieving a year or more of growth in their learning over the period of a year. The school also met 100 percent of Achievement indicators to achieve an A in this area.
