Mike Johnson
Superintendent Mike Johnson arrived in the Bexley City School District in 2001 from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Under his leadership, Bexley Schools has developed a school district mission and vision as well as strategic priorities. Schools and systems in the district have implemented "Best Practices" in all areas. Dr. Johnson has encouraged community engagement in the life of the schools through residents' service on task forces and accountability committees, among other activities.

Bexley Schools has received the highest marks from the Ohio Department of Education each year that Dr. Johnson has served as the district’s leader.

His prominence in the field of education was underscored in 2008 when he was among the final six candidates considered for the position of Superintendent of Instruction for the State of Ohio. His dedication to youth, service and high ethical standards is expressed through his involvement in Rotary International, including a term as President of Rotary's local chapter.

In 2004, Dr. Johnson received the Dr. Effie Jones Humanitarian Award from the American Association of School Administrators.

A graduate of the University of Southern Colorado/Pueblo, he holds Masters and Doctoral degrees from the University of Northern Colorado/Greeley. Dr. Johnson's 40-plus years of experience at all levels in the public schools underscore his commitment to children and high expectations for all students.
