Family Update
Dear Families,

In support of our students' social and emotional learning, we work with our staff to analyze and use the information we gather from each fall and spring administration of Panorama.  The information helps each school shape goals of our work with students.  The Panorama survey helps us assess students’ perceptions of their own social emotional learning; we believe these are critical skills and mindsets that support successful children.
The first Panorama online survey for the year will be administered during one of your child’s School Counseling lessons between March 3-7, 2025.  It is our hope that all students across our district in 4th-12th grades will participate. This questionnaire encourages students to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning; survey focus areas are grit, self-management, sense of belonging, social awareness, and school climate.

When we review student responses we ask two key questions:
What do our kids want us to know?
What do they want us to do?

And then we dig in as faculty members within our buildings to identify potential areas to better support each student and provide them with strategies to lead happy, healthy lives. Elementary school counselors and principals are able to look at individual student data to determine students that may need individual support.  We will use this information, as needed, in partnership with teachers and families, to help further support these students.

Again, it is our hope that all students, 4th-12th grade will participate. If, however, you would like to opt your student out of the survey, please contact your building principal by February 28, 2025.  If you have questions about this survey, please feel free to contact me.  Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and of our school.

Thank you for your partnership!

Ohio Innovation Challenge
Calling all K-12 students who have innovative ideas about how to make our world a better place!

If you have an idea for an invention, an app, a new system for doing things, or some other innovation that you would love to share, consider entering your idea in a new online competition called the Ohio Innovation Challenge. Winners of this round will go on to enter the National competition. Registration is now open and is completely free! You may register as an individual or as a small team. The Student Guide will give you lots of ideas that will help you start putting your ideas together.

Registration will close April 26th. As part of the registration, students who are interested will need adult permission, a 60 second video pitch, a logbook showing how your ideas started and evolved, and a 6-slide summary. Contact Ms. Kuder if you have any questions! [email protected]
