Contract: Finite Contract for the remainder of the 2023/2024 school year
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be in possession of a valid Ohio teaching license for Intervention Specialist (K-12), Moderate to Severe (preferred) or Mild to Moderate
- Previous teaching experience developing and delivering Individual Educational Programs, Behavioral Intervention Plans and Safety Plans
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:- Abides by all performance responsibilities of a classroom teacher;
- Participates in the assessment process of with disabilities as requested;
- Participates in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and/or Safety plans as needed for assigned students;
- Plans and delivers specially designed instruction the individual needs of students as specified in the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs);
- Plans and delivers specially designed instruction that addresses students’ emotional regulation needs and provide a means to help the students become more successful in all areas of the school environment;
- Develops plans for and teaches paraprofessionals how to implement academic/social-emotional and behavioral strategies with students;
- Consults with classroom teachers on a regular basis to make recommendations concerning adjustment of academic and social strategies for students with disabilities;
- Consults with parents of students with disabilities on a regular basis about the student's progress;
- Conducts an ongoing assessment of each student's academic, social-emotional and behavioral skills to develop progress reports and to make adjustments in teaching strategies as needed;
- Serves as a resource person for faculty and administration as requested in the area of disabilities;
- Maintains appropriate records and provides data for completion of annual reports;
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Salary:Long-term substitute rate
