Minimum Qualifications:- Must hold Ohio teaching license for Intervention Specialist (K-12), Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe
- Individuals with experience in implementing multisensory reading instruction and supporting students with social/emotional and behavorial needs will be considered
- Experience preferred
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:- Abides by all performance responsibilities of a classroom teacher
- Participates in the assessment and placement of learning disabled students as requested
- Participates in writing an individual educational plan (IEP) for each assigned student
- Plans and implements a program of study that meets the individual needs of the student as specified in the individual educational plan (IEP)
- Consults with classroom teachers on a regular basis to make recommendations concerning adjustment of academic and social strategies for students in the specific learning disabilities program
- Consults with parents of learning disabled students on a regular basis about the student's progress in the specific learning disabilities program
- Conducts an ongoing assessment of each student's academic skills, making adjustments in teaching strategies and curriculum as needed
- Serves as a resource person for faculty and administration as requested in the area of learning disability
- Maintains appropriate records and provides data for completion of annual reports
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
