NEWS: Bexley Be Well Kicks Off
Bexley Be Well kicked off with a launch event last night.

Audience members watched the film "Angst", a documentary designed to raise awareness around anxiety. Afterward, a panel of experts discussed and answered questions about mental health.  Panel members were:
  • Matt Dunatchik, Psychotherapist, Gestalt Columbus
  • Dr. James MacDonald, Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Family Medicine at The Ohio State University and a Pediatric Sports Medicine Specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital
  • Kitty W. Soldano, PhD, LISW-S: Retired from The Department of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University Medical Center where she worked primarily as a clinician and currently consulting at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to enhance family focused interventions in their Behavioral Health programs.
  • Kamilah Twymon, LPCC-S, MBA: Clinical Coordinator of School-Based Services, Nationwide Children's Hospital 

 

Resources were also available for those in attendance.

Community Book Read - September 5-October 5
We are inviting our community to engage in a reading of the book What Made Maddy Run by Kate Fagan. Staff and community members may read the book as individuals, families, or join a book club. Books may be purchased at the launch event, at Gramercy, or borrowed from the Bexley Public Library.

Parent Institute - Sunday, September 22
Our first Parent Institute of the year will feature multiple sessions on topics related to our community conversation as well as other topics of importance to our parents.

Author Visit - Sunday, October 6
Schottenstein Theater 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Kate Fagan is the author of the instant New York Times bestseller, What Made Maddy Run, which spent a month as the No. 1 New York Times bestseller on the sports list. What Made Maddy Run was long-listed for the PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sports Writing. Fagan is also the author of the coming-of-age memoir, The Reappearing Act, about her experience coming out while playing basketball at the University of Colorado.
