Last week, Ohio’s School Report Cards were released, and Bexley City Schools has a lot to celebrate, receiving five-star ratings — the highest possible — in four of five categories. The report cards are designed to provide information on the progress of school districts in raising achievement and preparing students for the future.
This is the first time report cards have been issued since before the pandemic began in March 2020. The star-rating system replaces a traditional letter-grade system to help districts and communities interpret the data.
While School Report Cards can be useful, it is important to remember that they are only one measure of success for a district. Many elements combine to form a teaching and learning community, and Bexley City Schools will continue to provide an exceptional educational experience.

Early Literacy.
Bexley Schools met or exceeded state standards in every category. Early Literacy is the one category where the district received three of five stars. District leadership already is addressing this area of growth. A new English Language Arts curriculum, Wit and Wisdom, and a new intervention for struggling readers, Acadience Reading, were introduced this school year to assist students in mastering this important skill.
