September 2, 2020 Dear Families, On September 1, the Bexley City School District Board of Education voted to accept the recommendation of Dr. Miller, Superintendent of Schools, to engage in hybrid learning starting September 21. We are hopeful circumstances will continue to improve and that we will be able to welcome all students into the building soon. For now, however, we are enthusiastic to welcome half of our students back to school in person each day. Requirements for students to attend in-person learning at our elementary school include that parents continue to monitor their children for symptoms of COVID-19, specifically those included in the Bexley Health Pledge, located inside of the BCSD Parent/Student COVID-19 Operations Guide. Family commitment to these guidelines and purposeful actions will be critical in allowing our schools to stay open for in person learning. We ask that if there are any concerns with respect to these guidelines that you please contact us immediately so that we can address those concerns. Hybrid learning will feature approximately 50% of our current student enrollment in order to provide a safe environment for both students and faculty. You received your hybrid group in the email which informed you of your child’s class placement for this year. Your child’s classroom teacher has your child’s hybrid group information if you need to confirm. Hybrid group A attends school in person on Mondays and Tuesdays. Hybrid group B attends in person on Thursdays and Fridays. For our first week of hybrid: Monday, September 21 -- Hybrid Group A attends in person, group B learns from home Tuesday, September 22 -- Hybrid Group A attends in person, group B learns from home Wednesday, September 23 -- All students participate in live learning from home Thursday, September 24 -- Hybrid Group B attends in person, group A learns from home Friday, September 25 -- Hybrid Group B attends in person, group A learns from home
