District Superintendent

School year 2015 – 2016 was a year of outstanding accomplishments on the part of our Bexley faculty, staff and students. Both Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report ranked our high school as the best in Central Ohio and we received “A” grades on Ohio School Report Card Progress Data for all students in grades 4 – 8 plus students representing several other categories.

Bexley passed a groundbreaking Gender Expression and Gender Identity policy and made an important promise to our school community: “We are committed to ensuring that every student has equal educational opportunities and equal access to the District’s programs and activities.”

We were also challenged over the past year – new state mandates pushed us to the limits of our resources, our community undertook a spirited debate about whether to make changes to the way our schools are set up and we lost beloved members of our school family. We created opportunities out of these challenges – seeking support and inviting community members to give input for moving forward and making us stronger.

We are now in full gear for a 2017 evaluation by the AdvancED accreditation organization; Bexley is one of four districts in Ohio with all schools and the district having full accreditation from this internationally recognized body.

Our school district continues to be an educational leader, partnering with innovators such as Battelle for Kids and Ohio State University to help advance educational reform. And our implementation of educational best practices -- Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Effective Schools and Reading and Writing Project – yields the momentous results that keep our district among the top school systems in the state and across the U.S.

We maintain our focus on the individual child and we thank the Bexley community for its support of our excellent school district.
